More Information

Although being based in New Mexico, I have enjoyed the opportunity to work on projects throughout the United States and Mexico. For designers, architects, builders and private clients, naturally there needs to be an inherent trust involved - sending an artisan into a project (whether near or far)...usually with a tight time-table and potential mystery factors. Therefore, depending on the situation, I work alone or I work with an affiliate/partner - (my partner or partners being top-notch master artisans in their own right.) A larger crew is corralled when needed.

We can begin with samples. Colors and concepts based on anything from paint or fabric swatches. The samples that are created might need to be fine-tuned once we experience the actual environment - especially the lighting. Venetian plastering isn’t a mechanical procedure...but an organic artform as varied as the applicators themselves. I will interpret ideas through dialogue...good initial communication and decent visual information. We’ll throw intuitive guidance into the mix as well!

Please contact me for any information regarding preparations, procedures and also pricing. Because I work in many varied ways and with different mediums and styles - I need to determine the overall picture. This might include square footage, the amount of detail, stenciling and texture involved, the amount of plaster layers, waxing and/or sealing, materials needed and time needed to complete. Commercial endeavors might differ from residential ones regarding approach etc.

Biography

Urszula Bolimowski is a European born artisan living in the United States since 1970. She attended the Paier College Of Art (New Haven, Connecticut) before setting off for travels and explorations both around the world and around the country. She gained creative experiences in the fields of graphic design, illustration and photography starting in Connecticut and New York. Re-settling in Seattle in 1982, she began working in theatre as a set-painter/designer and also working with children teaching art and painting murals. In 1992 she re-located yet again to Santa Fe, New Mexico where the set-design work finally led to her passion for creating interior environments. She still considers Santa Fe her main base of operations.
